ILWU Credit Union proudly serves the financial needs of the Longshore Community. ILWU looked to La Macchia Group for ideas on how to celebrate their unique culture throughout their new three-story branch and administrative center in Long Beach, CA. Together, ILWU and La Macchia set out to create a fresh and accessible environment for members and employees. Through the thoughtful and creative integration of technology, the space was not only vibrant and engaging, but also provided some much-desired operational efficiencies and member conveniences.
Because ILWU wanted to stand out in the market as a leader who embraced technology, La Macchia’s Vivialociti team, experts in technology and digital integration, worked with the designers and architects to include a large three-wall video screen to display dynamic imagery of the local landscape in which their membership lives and works. To continue the tribute to the Longshoreman culture, specific finishes such as a corrugated metal, mimicking a shipping container, were selected and placed in key areas to welcome dock workers and their families.
The finished branch is a powerful expression of what can happen when a strong brand is combined with forward-thinking design and technology, and a solid commitment to creating positive member experiences.
